Some customers have their own data centers and we manage their infrastructure and application stacks that are physically hosted in their facilities with ioko performing all of the management remotely onto these platforms.

Other customers are looking for specialized data centers for hosting their mission-critical platforms as well as an organization to provide the management services around these platforms.

For customers looking for data centers, we have specialized world-class hosting facilities that are physically located in prime locations in the UK (London & Manchester) and US West Coast and East Coast. Equipment is installed into ioko provided racks and connected to a resilient high availability power, data and secure communications infrastructure. These data centers also include shared facilities specifically suited to Media & Entertainment companies such as access to satellite facilities or shared services such as transcoding platforms or content watermarking services. In addition, we specialize in providing fully resilient hosting for complex web applications which are deployed in multiple of our geographically dispersed data center sites.

But whether your application is in your data center or ours, we have the unique combination of integrated ITIL service management, security, quality assurance and single-point-of-accountability to successfully manage your platform.

Global Connectivity

Customers using our data centers make use of our managed network services that have been specifically designed to cope with both the needs of web applications that will need to deliver service to millions of users and also deliver large quantities of video to those users. We are not a telco or CDN but we have integrated our data centers with the leading providers of these services globally. The services we provide in conjunction with these partners include:

• Leased lines
• MPLS
• Internet IP transit services
• Global DNS and load balancing services over
• Direct fibre access to CDNs from the data center
• Video Streaming either direct from our streaming platforms or using a CDN

The more "mission critical" the application is, the more redundancy, robustness, and security are required. Our connectivity provides independent connectivity between all our data centers and service delivery centers globally. Our IP network currently extends across multiple locations in the UK and West and East Coast USA. We provide Layer 2 and Layer 3 data services for private networking and fully redundant Internet edge and distribution networks and provide many customers with multi-gigabit Internet connections all fed through to upstream providers. ioko policy is to take Tier 1 transit from 3 or more providers. We are a Local Internet Registrar (LIR) at RIPE. Our peering network covers UK and US.

Our selection process for our facilities includes checks on efficiency rating of the sites themselves. In parallel our teams are constantly looking at ways to reduce the amount of energy consumed within our facilities, by reducing numbers of physical servers required, implementing most effective cooling techniques and using cutting-edge virtualization technologies to offer our clients low carbon hosting solutions.
